Music has always been the one thing to keep us connected. Even during the years when our relationship was strained, my dad and I always seemed to be able to have a common interest and love in music. No matter how long it had been since we had talked we always were able to ‘break the ice’ in overdue phone calls be talking about our current favorites and any unknown bands we had discovered. I think it goes back to the fact my dad took me to my very first concert to see the Beach Boys, such a special event and a memory to cherish forever.
