This is another layout that had been lying around unfinished for awhile. I wasn't sure what I wanted to achieve so I took my inspiration from Jrabs and her use of chicken wire and burlap (I now have a ton of burlap because I had to buy it by the meter…lol!! Well actually it is hesian it isn't as neat as burlap). I wanted to try her painting techniques too, but thought maybe another day when I gain some more confidence. Thanks Jen for the inspiration!

This little church was built by convict labour in 1843 but was never completely finished. It has never been consecrated and never had a denomination or name…it is just known as Boyds Church! It is hiding in the bush at Twofold Bay on the South Coast of NSW, Australia, and came about when a Scottish entrepreneur, Benjamin Boyd, had plans to build a town where he would operate his Steamship and Whaling industry from. He had built a Hotel and Tower and some housing before he became bankrupt. He left Australia leaving his project to build Boydtown unfinished. It is believed he headed for the California gold fields in 1849 in the attempt to recoup some of his fortune. He disappeared in the Solomons in 1851 when he went ashore to hunt ducks. His body was never found, despite searches initiated by his creditors. The Hotel is now a beautiful resort and is all that is left functional of Boydtown. The tower is still there and this poor little crumbling Church, which lost its roof in a bushfire in 1926. It now has a tall barb wire fence around it as it is not safe and will eventually collapse. I am lucky I am tall, so I was able to hold the camera up over the fence to get a fairly good pic. Like most of my holiday layouts…this will be a 2 pager with the other page using the We R Memory Keeper sleeves for the additional photo's and journaling.

I am still on my mission to use up older supplies. The flowers are from Prima and the title is BG Offbeat which I coloured with copics to give a bit more depth. Chipboard chicken wire and barbwire is from DA and the leaves are from Out there Chippie. Thanks so much for taking the time to have a peek :)
