Journaling: No matter where we went in Prague, it seemed we walked through the Old Town Square to get there. It was a market square in the 11th century and became the nucleus of the Old Town when the Town Hall was built in the 13th century. Also in the square are the Jan Hus Memorial, the Tyn Church, and the Church of St. Nicholas. What usually draws the crowds, including us, is the Astronomical Clock that strikes the hour and puts on a show from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The figures on either side of the clock move, and in the windows above the clock, the apostles parade past. We managed to catch the show twice while we were in Prague, but we never did figure out the complicated time-keeping discs of the clock. 05.22.11
