This is my oldest three children, Joshua, Adam and Sarah, sitting in the swing with their grandpa -my daddy - on his back porch back in the fall of 1989. Sarah was about 6 mos. old, Adam was about 3 yrs. and Joshua 5 yrs. They spent a lot of hours in that swing with Daddy; it was one of their favorite spots. He would swing them and sing old, old songs to them. I can remember him doing the same thing with us when we were little. I loved to hear my Daddy sing!

The little poem reads: "There is a place in my childhood that I remember well, full of joy and happiness and wonderful tales to tell. A place where loving memories were passed along to me, when I was in my favorite spot upon my Grandpa's knee." ~ By Karen Mortensen

The bg paper is one I've had for 10 years or more... figured it would be cute for this, since my kids never went to Disneyworld. All I did to this was add a couple of pps inside the plain squares, some rickrack and the title. The title was cut with the Cuttlebug using QuikKutz templates. I also did a little doodling. Recently, my sister, Susan (sgoetter) was showing me some of her zentangles and wanting me to give it a try. This isn't exactly the same, but I did use some of the designs to create borders around some of the squares. Thanks so much for looking!!!
