I love your LO! Such a great shot you were able to capture! I loved watching the deer when I lived in Michigan, they would wander across the far end of my property where the pond was while hopping between farmers fields!
Ohhhhhhh Pat. I think I am in LOVE. Please tell the big boy with the horns that I love him. I also love this LO. The flourish with the bird is so striking here in black. Your film strip also cool. But the layers to matt that photo are puuuurfect in color to make the photo pop. and after all, what's not to love in that photo. ohhhhh baby - talking real love.
Amazing to get a photo of a buck! Especially in velvet. Even tho we have too many deer on our property I refuse hunters too! Hoping things will change for you soon!
cool layers!! I love the film-strip bit too! And thank you for the title inspiration- I have some great pics my daughter snapped of deer in the woods. I cannot WAIT to life this!
I am all to familiar with this story myself. I love how you captured these two. THe framing of the photo is perfect. I love the bird flourish and the film strip.
WELL worth the wait, Pat! LOOVE the photo and what an adorable title! Those bucks were pretty bold (and desperate) to be out in broad daylight around hunting season! SOOO glad you don't allow hunting on your property tho! Love that big flower and the film strip!
I have deer that roam by back yard acre, too. Love the wood paper and the other two bg papers and the title is so clever! My favorite is the scroll work with the bird! Gread layout. Thanks for choosing this one to lift. -Pam
Living out in the country, every so often I get a chance to see something ... incredible. This was one of those days.
I was out watering the horses and four deer showed up in my south pasture. Deer normally bed down during the day and are active in the early morning and early evening hours, but these were out in the full sun of the afternoon - just searching - looking for water, for salt, for feed, for anything to sustain them in the middle of the worst drought Oklahoma has on record. It becomes more obvious how desperate they were when you consider that of the four of them, TWO were bucks in full velvet - one a six point and the other a four. And more incredible than all of this, they did not move when I went into the house and came back out again with my camera. I think that maybe they understood that a little picture taking was the price they had to pay for access to the fresh water troughs and hay bales.
I haven't seen my big doe this year. This female is one of her daughters. And no...nobody is allowed to hunt on my property. They're safe.
A BIG thanks to Karen for holding the Scraplift the Person Before You open a little past due date so that I can post my lift of PamStewartIowa's "Granny" layout.
Thanks for taking a peek. This went together fast, but it took all month to get it done. August - what a MESS!
