This used to be the name of a type of white sliced loaf in the UK, but for me it just showed my pride in my son's achievement. He worked in my hospital during his three months of university vacations, and he did a fantastic job! Hospitals in the UK have to achieve 90% of all patients being assessed for deep vein thrombosis. In return, the government gives them a big payback! Our hospital was achieving just under 70%, but Josh took it as his personal mission to get the junior doctors assessing everyone! He made posters and put them up; he looked up the statistics of how many patients died unnecessarily; he cajoled the junior docs, and he interrogated the software so that he could work out who were the best performers/worst culprits. In three months, we went from under 70% to 91.4% and everyone was suddenly talking about this achievement. I cannot begin to describe how excited and proud I was - he is a great kid! He was being offered all sorts of jobs before he left a week ago, but he has one more year of university, and fortunately his head was not turned too much, and he is now back with his head in his books for one more year. Hey - I LOVE being the mom of the kid who did so well! This is his ID! (#12 for the 20/20 challenge)
