This picture should have been taken in Mayen (a German town near Koblenz). I've seen an old picture of this hotel in internet. I think the building still exists but it isn't a hotel anymore.
this is spectacular! i love the bits of red; makes the lo 'pop'.....the half-slanted gate is a great touch! the photo is awesome and i just love all the torn bits of paper :) :) :)
Your poem is very well stated exposing a meaningful link between your daughter's love of horses and her Opa. FABULOUS job at aging the journaling poem and using natural dies of raspberry and green tea for the handmade crochet flower.
What a delightful discovery! Beautiful layout and tribute to her! I love all the reverences to time in your embellies, and I love those vellum leaves you created!
A priceless photo surrounded with artsy elements. Like the diagonal placement of the fence frame. Great job with the stains and utee. Very nice collage.
Wow, such a beautifully put together page with so much to admire! I adore the whole 'antique-y" feel and look of the page, and all of the wonderful embellishments so carefully chosen and placed! Favorite!
I alway's wondered where our daugter's love of horses came from. When my father died in 2002 I was going through a box with hundreds of photo's in it. To my surprise some of the photo's were from my mother's side of the family. There it was a photo of my Opa on a horse! I crochet the flower's and used raspberry and green tea to dye them the color I needed since all I had was white crochet thread. The glass clock, hour glass, and accordian was cut out then I uteed them. I have a program that has thousands of clip art item's. Used Martha Stewart punch, Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Cricut, and cartridge. Made the leaves with vellum and a Martha leaf stamp. The metal clock is from Tim Holtz. Paper's were from my stash. The fence was burgandy but I used Tim Holtz Distress, and black glitter glue on it. The large burgandy flower I made. The rest of the flower's are from Recollection's, and some silk flower's I had. Please be kind concering the poem. I have not written one since I was in High School a hundred year's ago. I was not good at it then either. Thank you for stopping by. Your comments are always appreciated. Happy Scrapping!
