I started to watch some videos on Youtube trying to find new techniques to apply on my pages. As a scrapbooker, I "had" to place a photo on this work but I think it would rather not... Complex to understand?? A little...LOL!
I worked on a watercolor paper covered with Gesso, applied some acrylics, added texture, scraps of paper, stamped, pilled paint, etc.
Last night I saw a tutorial with these rolled papers and wanted to try "something", well, this is the result.

I love it! I have a similar issue- I want to go fully abstract but I keep wanting to put photos in my work- I usually go with my instincts- the pages are for me anyway. This is BEAUTIFUL! Gorgeous color and texture- love the paper rolls!
