After the Jade Temple we took a cab to an upscale shopping district called Nanjink where all the trendy shops were and walked around until dark. There was a cute little train that offered inexpensive rides from one end of shopping district to the other and we were at the furthest end from the Bund where we were to catch the shuttle back to the cruise ship so Bill bought a train ticket for each of us and we rode back through Nanjink and got off near the Bund.
We were able to easily walk back to the Bund where Bill bought us a cold Coke to share and an additional case of Cokes to take back to the ship. We enjoyed sitting on bleacher-type seats in the courtyard part the Bund and watching people and the boats on the river for about an hour.
Holland America furnishes shuttle buses at no charge on their Grand Voyage and World Voyage cruises. Holland America pays for everything which was nice because on other ships we've paid for the shuttles to get us to and from the ship. We got on the next-to-the-last shuttle to the ship that night, totally exhausted!
