These photos are of one of my paternal great grandmothers. They were taken in her garden shortly before she died. I have an earlier professional photo of her husband who fought in the Civil War, but these are the only photos I have of her. The other people in the middle photograph are three of her daughters, one of whom was my grandmother. My Great Grandmother was born in Baden Baden, Germany in 1847. She immigrated to the U.S. when she was 20 and she and her husband had 12 children, 10 of whom survived to adulthood. She died at the age of 93.
