Tuesday, October 25th, 2011 – today was the second day in Hong Kong. We love the way this cruise gives us 2 days in all the larger cities!

We walked through the mall and to the ferry station. One the other side of the harbor we caught the green line Hop On-Hop off bus which took us to Aberdeen.

We boarded a Sampan which is a type of open boat used to take you around the area. Aside from fishing boats, there were a lot of small boats where people actually lived. It was like a shanty town on boats. It was hard to tell which boats were fishing boats that the fisherman stayed on and which boats were permanently anchored and used as homes with people living on them.

A very famous floating restaurant was in the center of all the boats – it really looked nice! It was called “Jumbo's” and from what we were told, many American movies and Chinese movies show this restaurant. Our Sampan took us all the way around the flowing restaurant – it is not attached to shore anywhere, it is completely surrounded by water.

We walked through another market – this one had the very same things the other market vendors were selling. Then it was time to leave Aberdeen and go back to the ship.

We took the Hop On-Hop Off back to the ferry station and, rode the ferry across the harbor and made it back to the ship before our 4:00 all aboard deadline.
