In Asian countries many of the woman do not want to expose their skin to the sun, for some Asian women pale skin is a sign of beauty. The woman in the bottom left is completely covered up with long pants, long shirt and even her face covered to protect her from the sun. We saw that in Vietnam, all over China and in Singapore. That is not uncommon in Japan either, no matter how hot it is. The women even wear gloves to keep the sun from tanning their hands. Even in the hottest weather.
I thought it was interesting too the way she had the pole over the back of her shoulders to carry the two bundles. That is also common in many countries.

And women here are the exact opposite...wanting a tan to feel beautiful about themselves!
