"Wanishi Sager" **Scraps of Darkness***

I was inspired by an article that I read in a scrapbook magazine. The topic that inspired me was " My Hero", the challenge is to share a story of someone who made a difference in your life. The person I chose was my cousin and tribal elder-I call him my Sager. He is our clan's Lëpweìnu.
Journaling reads:
A Sager man is a profoundly
wise man, a person famed
for wisdom. He is patient and
slow to speak. He is deliberate
with his words. He is patient
and kind, he is loyal, trustworthy.
He is not arrogant, He loves his
family. He has been one of the
most important influences in my
life. He is my life mentor, he is a
great role model. Through his
actions, I have learned patience,
vision, integrity, strength and
compassion. You have taught
me to stand up and be a voice
for our people and for our
family's future preservation.
You have inspired my
diligence to pass on our
family traditions to the next
generation. My life is richer
because of you. I love you like
a father and I am so blessed
to have you in my life.
