This is for the July Week 1 sketch, and the VLB challenge to use red, white and blue on our LO.
This is a cherished photo of my grandmother (on the right) and two of her friends on V-J night. The photo is soiled, but I think that adds to its charm. I didn't want to go too pretty/cute with the embellies, but I did want it to be patriotic looking. I turned the sketch 90 deg to accommodate my photo, and instead of a flourish at the bottom, I just wavy cut a piece of PP. I inked the background CS, the PP circles, the photo and the border piece (which already had the red ribbon and the flower stitched on it).
Please ignore the sloppy cut and paste job on the bottom strip. :/

I love the color scheme for this pic, it has a retro feel to it. I love the banner with the star buttons and then the stars at the bottom. Nice take on the sketch!
