great page- love the bg pp- It's always hard when we are reminded of people we love that are now lost- but you did it & it's a wonderful memory- hang on to that ((((hugs)))
love the simplicity of the lo - it definitely "speaks" of relaxation and quiet good times. It must have been terribly difficult for you to go back and scrap these moments - not knowing then what you know now. It does make the lo that much more of a treasure. WONDERFULLY done.
Beautiful lo -- and you're so right. Sometimes I find that I'm predicting the future when I scrap old pics. How sad on the loss of your friend. Glad you have that wonderful pic.
You did a great job of protraying a fantastic line of papers with your beautiful memories and photos! I love the simplicity.. let the photos speak for themselves! Great way to preserve a special memory. I am so sorry for your loss!
aww, I think you did this beautifully, and it's ok to use a special picture more then once. I know what you mean about going back and trying to scrap something when you know a change in the future. But I think you did this perfectly, remembering and relaxing in what was a great night for you and your friends. Beautiful lo!
I love Blue Awning - some if is going in my wedding album. I think you did a wonderful job scrapping this and I hope that there was a little therapy in these happy memories. I am so sorry Lisa on the loss of your friend. This is what happy memories are made of - wonderful times spent together - they are the ties that bind.
Those blue awning papers are some of my all time favorites! Wonderful layout about a fun time in your life. I know you must your friend terribly! Hugs!
This one is simple - it was hard for me to work on. When I scrap my pictures, since they are put into chronological books and are like a journal to me, I don't like to give away future information on pages even though I'm scrapping them way after the fact. I want them to be as though I did the page right after the event - mainly because I always USED to be caught up, and DIDN'T scrap things four years later. This is me and my group of Up North friends - Patrick, his Lab Snowy, Mike, Keith, & Scott. I will probably use the photo on the left again at some point to go in my 2012 book because it is the only photo I have of myself and my friend Patrick together. But this LO is meant for August 2008, and I didn't know then that less than 3 1/2 years later he would be killed in a snowmobile accident. Anyway, this LO took a lot out of me today so this was the best I could do.
I used last month's MSC Week 1 Bonus Sketch that I didn't get to in July.
This is for the August One Month at a Time Challenge, in which all of the photos on the LO's must be from any August - these are from August 5, 2008. This is Week 2, which required: 1. the word 'friendship' - I have a quote sticker that says "In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter and sharing of pleasures." - Kahil Gibran; 2. one supply purchased or received in the last month - I bought the Tim Holtz clock yesterday for this LO; 3. photo matting; and 4. at least 4 different colors - I have blue, green, black, cream/beige, and pink (in the flowers).
This is also for the VLB Challenge to do a LO about a relaxing activity. I can't think of anything more relaxing than a sunset pontoon ride in the only boat on the lake with cocktails and dear friends.
Journaling says: An evening cruise on Big Portage - I caught a walleye in the hole but it broke the line. We followed up with guitars, bourbon, & Bailey's on Keith's porch.
