Positively gorgeous! from top to bottom!...love the way you did the title...my fav is the heart flower witht he mini pearls...it's so WOW!..Is that a border strip of flowers?...adds a nice pop of color...well done!
I think your instincts about the misting and masking were good, and I also think you're being a little too hard on yourself. This is a NICE layout. I think the thing that you are unhappy with is the greenery and the humming bird, because both have a more contemporary style and don't seem to QUITE fit. Try pinching the vine and leaves down their centerlines and adding a bit of ink there to give them a more distressed look and give the hummingbird a touch of distress - distress stickles perhaps - and see if that doesn't achieve what you want to have happen. Just an idea!
Well! I think it turned out fabulous, Vickie! That is so kewl you found a newer version.... then.. and now... What a treasure of a photo!! beautiful lady!!
Talk about a GREAT find! Wow, how awesome was it finding the same angled photo as the original b&w, very cool Vickie! Luv that stenciled fence and butterfly/clock stamp! Who makes it?
What a beautiful old photo of your grandmother!!!! She looks so chic & stylish!!! I love your masking & how you combined the 2 photos in this heritage lo!!! Fabulous work!!
Love this and I think you captured it perfectly! The photo is so pretty! What a beautiful woman! And your fence is GREAT! Who doesn't love hummingbirds? Your title is perfect too!
I LOVE that you showed what Douglas Park looks like today...what a great find!! I think you displayed both photos beautifully. You're starting to sound like me now so STOP IT!!! LOL :o) Love your fence, heart flower, hummingbird, leaves and smaller flowers at the top! Also love your title!! I think this is a very creative lo that showcases your grandmother beautifully!!! GREAT job!
I think your displayed them beautifully and with so much creativity, Vickie! I love, LOVE that fence!!!! So cool! And the photo of your grandmother is a real treasure! Thank you for sharing your treasures with us, my friend! I love your title work, too. Everything looks amazing!
we are so critical of ourselves, but truly, Vickie, this came out wonderfully. This is a perfectly done heritage page & as usual, love your stamping work & special touches!
You have done a wonderful job displaying these two photo's!!! Your fence looks amazing and how creative to make your own stencil!! Love your stamping and the little floral border at the bottom is so pretty!! Lovely photo of your grandmother and a tresure to have!! Beautifully done Vickie!!
I think you created a beautiful multi photo heritage page - I love the little fence and the hummingbird - your pp is perfect for your photos and I love the colors in your border.

This is gorgeous Vicki..love your fence and the strip of glittery flowers; the rosette is beautiful with the heart center! Superb stamping and the rub on hummer is awesome!!! Your design is wonderful...and you did a grand job on it!!!
Well I don't know about you.. but I like how you set it up... Thats an awesome design.. to have past and present. It kinda gave me chills knowing on that very post... she stood as a young woman.. Its an amazing feeling I get from this layout. Its so nice to be able to have this photos and to beable to do a comparison like that... I LIKE IT!
I think you handled the challenge of linking the past to the present just beautifully!! The fence is wonderful and really ties the "present" photo into the whole! I love the way you stamped the right side of the page by the photos and journaled on the other side! And I think your choice of colors and embellishment is just perfect!!
This is my submission for August Heritage Challenge. I struggled with this lo for two weeks and I am still not happy with it. The b&w photo is my paternal Grandmother. On the back of the pic was written "Douglas Park, 1947". I went on the internet to find out more about Douglas Park and found the colored photo showing the area where she was standing as it currently looks. I was thrilled with my find, but just couldn't seem to find a way (that I liked) to display both photos. I made the stencil to create the fence, did a little stamping and the hummingbird is a rub on from my stash. TFL!!
