This is Cassie's jazz portrait from 2010. They danced to the Guns 'N Roses version of Live and Let Die. She was in five dances that year, and I've already scrapped 3 of them, so I have one to go (!) as well as nine from 2011 and eight from 2012. Sigh. You can see the LO's I've completed for earlier years in my Dance LO's Album in my gallery. All her professional dance portraits have been taken by Cass Photography.

This is for the August Monthly Sketch Challenge - Week 1 with the twist to use a photo corner. I cut one from the Black Pearl cs with a Sizzix die in my Cuttlebug.

Thematically, this was a hard LO for me to come up with a plan for. Her costume went with the grungy metal 80's GnR version of the song, instead of the 70's movie/Wings version, so I ended up with sort of a weird hybrid of slick/elegant James Bond and heavy metal. All the cardstocks are metallic (Onyx, Black Pearl, & Steel), and the glitter pp is a retro print. I stamped a grid pattern with silver ink in a couple places on the bg. I cut the scallops with a large Martha Stewart corner rounder. The floral strips are metal tape, and the title letters are pewter. I cut the flowers with the Tattered Floral die and sprayed them with silver GM. The centers are mirrors, and the leaves are cut from the mesh arm bands of her costume. I added some sprays of silver pearls as well. I printed the gun barrel/007 logo from the internet, cut it in a circle, and mounted it on foam tape. I've included a butterfly on each of her 2010 dance portraits so far, so I added the black/silver glitter one here. The bird is an homage to Paul McCartney and Wings. :)
