Scraps of Darkness/Elegance Round Robin - Team 1, week 4. Used the beautiful July Scraps of Elegance "Isn't She Lovely" kit papers and embellishments to make my entry. Found much inspiration from the 3 prior weeks' Team 1 entries - fabulous vintage themed entries by Bubbachooka (titled 1965), Violent Kittie (titled A Good Time), and Reneabouquets (titled Unique). I incorporated a picture of my mom from 1945, a vintage find (one of my mom's earrings from the time period - hanging from the little envelope), a butterfly, a bird in the upper corner, a doily (the white heart), a painted column, flowers and pearls. I also utilized a couple of existing punches.
I like this picture of my mom because I think it shows her inner beauty, determination and poise, as well as her outer beauty. She was a great role model for me, and I truly thank her for being the great woman that she was. She passed away in 2005, and I still think about her every day.

What a gorgeous heritage page - so rich and striking - a perfect frame for the slightly altered vintage photo of your mom - it looks like you were able to put both your and her heart and soul into this page - I'll bet it was therapeutic for you - love all the pearls which highlight the pearls your mom is wearing and the fact that you were able to add one of her earrings - the white punched simple frame around your mom's photo is perfect as it sets off her beautiful photo from the remaining deep, rich, riotous colors. Have you guessed yet that I was going to put this in my FAVE's?
