our first company meal at the new table.
My MIL's expression is funny - glad she won't see this!
What this picture doesn't show, is the frustration that the bench and table combo displayed. The table is about 3" taller than our old one. The kids bench is slightly lower than a regular chair. And the mattress that is on the bench, is slightly wider than the bench seat. So when they would kneel (so they were high enough), the cushion would tilt, and off they would slide. And for my FIL to get to his seat? He had to crawl under the table! There wasn't enough room for him to sneak around the table. So after supper, DH and FIL went on a service call to fix someones wireless internet, kids played and went to bed, and MIL and I rearranged the dining room, which translated into rearranging the library as well. And we were so busy having fun - we forgot to take before pictures. :)
