This is another layout I made from the super Scraps of Darkness August 2012 kit, Jamaican Sunset. I wanted to do something softer than my normal OUT THERE colors. Ha! Still looks kinda bright. Anyway, I found much inspiration from the SOD/SOE Design Team - they all provided super inspiring layouts that really help spark creativity. But I want to give a special call-out to:
** Jrabs - for making me really want to do something soft and frosty
** Eleele - for making me want to use my paint and stamping in more unexpected ways
** Reneabouquets - for making me want to create out of this world flower displays
** Raining - for making me want to get creative with my punches

This is another picture of my granddaughter. This one is when she was about 7 months old. I have several versions of this picture, but I picked this one for her quirky half smile. Wonder what she was thinking?

I had a lot of fun with my new mini 8 punch on this one. The inner frame is the "regular use" of the punch. Then I made a few more and cut them into pieces to layer behind the inner frame. And I used the swirly cutout pieces for accents in the frame, and in the left upper corner. I also had fun with the background, which is a combination of layers of paint, Gesso, stamping and masking. For the flowers, I used flowers from the kit and added in some sprigs that I die cut with my Big Shot. I cut out the greenish yellow leaves from paper that was in the kit and painted them with metallic paint from the kit. The hummingbird is an existing stamp I had that I painted with dye ink and then glazed.
