I've had this kind of obsession about taking a picture of a full moon for a long time. My camera, unfortunately, did not SHARE this obsession, and while it made an effort, my photos all just ended up looking like white blobs in a black hole.

I've known that it was not reasonable to ask my sweet little Kodak Easy Share to be a big, heavy duty, moon picture taking piece of major technology, but I have so LOVED my little camera and I have, for the most part, been VERY happy with it.

But as time has gone on, I have been unable to get the photos that I REALLY wanted to get. For close up and every day, ordinary moments, my little camera was fine, but try as it would, it just wasn't up to the job of taking those long range, far away shots of things like

#1. The full moon
#2. The roadrunner that lives in my south pasture
#3. The bluebirds that sit on my fence
#4. The deer that graze in my back pasture

For my birthday, my mom helped me buy my new Nikon D3100 DSLR camera with a telephoto lens, just in time for the blue moon of 2012, which won't happen again until 2015. This one is a once in a blue moon photograph, and I had the camera power to photograph it!

Thanks mom! You ROCK!

The blue floral is by Basic Grey. The paper line is PB&J, and this particular pattern is called Picnic Basket. The only stack that SB.com has here is the full 12x12 paper pack, but I only bought the one paper. The pale blue is a piece of leftover Simple Stories from my scrap basket.
