I know I am pushing my take on this mini but here is the story...Charlie Chow Mein is so big (23 pounds) that there is a large area on his back that he can`t reach. The area gets matted and yucky. I brush him for a few seconds now and then and cut the matts when I can but Charlie doesn`t tolerate it very well (hence the just a few seconds!). Finnegan likes to wash Charlie and as long as it is his face and ears then Charlie really likes it but he doesn`t want Finnegan washing his back. However Finnegan can`t stand the way Charlies back is and tries to wash it daily. It seems to drive him crazy that his cat isn`t perfectly groomed. So he approaches Charlie and starts washing his back, Charlies tail starts twitching and his ears go back in a sign of anger. Finnegan does not take the hint and keeps on slurping. Charlie finally turns over to the dog and slaps him. Finnegan retaliates and bites the paw that hit him which is where we are in this photo. Charlie then gets more mad and the fight is on. It ends when Charlie finally jumps up high somewhere in a spot the dog can`t reach. Finnegan can`t let it go though and has to stare at Charlie and bark. He just has to get the last word in then he wanders away. Until later when Charlie walks by and Finnegan sees that messy back fur and just has to slurp it and it starts all over again. This has been going for over a year with no signs of stopping. I like to think that Finnegan loves his cat and is trying to clean it like any loving friend would do....a labor of love! lol TFL
