This is just a shot I took of the pump in our front yard at the cabin. I have a lot of memories of this thing. Journaling says: We didn't get indoor plumbing Up North until I was 18 years old. I remember watching my dad or mom or grandma prime the pump as soon as we arrived at the cabin when I was a child. I loved pumping water to use inside, but I usually couldn't carry the heavy bucketful afterwards.
This is for the September Monthly Sketch Challenge 30-day Sketch-a-thon Day 29.
I lightly masked chicken wire on the bg to tie in with the chicken wire over the geraniums in the photo.
I am also using this one for my Color 2 in the October Monochrome Challenge - Gooey Ooze (green) with no twist.

brings back memories for me too Lisa! Except the pump we had at our cabin, my grandpa had painted bright red. We got indoor plumbing the year I turned six, but we still pumped water to drink and water the flowers. Love the gears and metal, but woodsy feel to this; excellent job!!

Wow what a great bg. In India you can still see these type of pumps in very few places. I used to love it too coz there was one outside my aunt's home.
