You have the best family pics ever..you are so lucky to have these...my wicked step grandmother burned all the pics of my dads side of the family when he was a child when she married his widower father...meany woman...love the barlap bg too
Vintage Halloween sure is my fave this so brilliant love all the black colors and your textures are so vibrant and can be seen to our naked eyes Great job !!
I so love your English vintage pages - they all have a certain elegance or formality about them - this one is fabulous - love how the wrought iron gates tie in to your story so well - love the contrast of the masculinity created by the burlap, pp, and handmade flowers with the formality of the wrought iron gates - your story is captivating and I'm so glad it turned out so well - this is most definitely a FAVE ~
A STUNNING and OUTSTANDING creation! Love the fabulous flowers and the burlap; great fibers and bling and the gates are superb! That is a wonderful photo, so well preserved and very clear!
My English Grampa, Stanley Derbyshire, was a soldier for British forces in WWI and was captured by the Germans, spending several months in a German Prisoner of War camp. When the war was over, he told us they simply opened the gates and told them to start walking. He literally walked back to England!
During his capture, he was allowed to send a note home, but was only allowed to use 5 words. Always frugal, Grampa used four: "Send soap, Love, Stan"..guess he had his priorities!
For those who have asked about my photos...I do not use the originals. I simply scan them, photoshop to correct color, darken if faded, etc. and then print out and age with sand paper and distress inks. Doesn't take nearly as long as it sounds though! My originals are all kept in archival boxes or framed around my house!
