This is Baldo - a Florence carriage horse, who obviously loves his job and his owner. He and his owner were both happy to meet me and give me a little "horse time" half-way through my vacation. I was lonesome for Java, and after the muddled language barrier, Baldo's owner explained that he understood completely. He said that he has two other carriage horses, but that anytime he leaves Baldo at home, he misses him.
Horse people - even half a world apart - have a bond. It was fun to meet another horse lover and share our love of these magnificent animals.
My sister took this photo and e-mailed it to my mom with the caption, "Not surprisingly, Pat found a horse."

I laughed out loud when I saw this photo before I even read your comments... Of COURSE you'd find a horse 3,000 miles from home and bond with it and it's owner! ;) Adorable page, cute story and fab photo! Kudos to your sis for getting it!
