Stash Busting--I decided it was a scrappy day, so I used some choice G45, JB, and Kaiser scraps in my design. There's even a cast off scrap my BFF gave me at a crop with rub on zig zag stitches already on it. The photo mats are scrap cardstock also. The only paper I cut that's new is the brown plaid from a DCWV stack I split with the same BFF at our last scrap retreat. I used pieces of the brochure/map we got at the zoo that day. I loved this docent's talk about the spider to our mixed group of native English and native Spanish speakers. He spoke first in Spanish then English. You may have noticed he is Vietnamese, so he's using his 2nd and 3rd languages to teach about tarantulas! That Rocks for this former elementary teacher. I'm not wild about spiders, but overcame my fear to get close and learn more about these fascinating creatures. The tags I used are from the Ms $1 bin. The big felt spider sticker embellie is heavily modified as I peeled him off orange felt and stuck him on brown burlap, cut around the felt to leave hairy edges and used a brad to cover up the black widow cut out on the abdomen of the black felt spider. So the halloween black widow became a zoo tarantula embellie, and I used what I had creatively...
