This is for:
-Page Maps, Etc. - Sketch 4
-ABC - P=Piecework -- I'm counting the tags and the butterfly/hexie embellies as "piecework". Hope that flies. :)Q=Quote: "Family isn't an important thing. It's the only thing." -- Michael J. Fox R=Ribbon (on the tag) S=Stitching: stitched the lines coming down from the hexagons.
This was taken last month at Stronghold castle, in Oregon, Illinois (about 25 mi west of Rockford). My high school's madrigal group has performed there for the last 30+ years, and I thought it would be fun for Nina to see them. I will be doing a facing page of other photos using one of the other PM sketches.
I took more liberties with this one. :) This was really my first time working with hexagons and man, are they persnickety! I didn't space them quite how the sketch called for. I specifically wanted to use my CM hexagon punch and my MS butterfly punch (instead of my cameo) because I wanted to use just the cover sheet from this pack of paper. I cut the hexies and inked them. The butterflies were just too small on their own, so I put them on inked hexies, and then attached each of the butterflies to the hexies with brads. The butterfly/hexies are all pop-dotted. The photo mat is a die-cut from the Silhouette store. I originally had the ribbon in the corner, as the sketch indicated, but it looked weird there, so I put it on the tag. I may move the tag behind the pocket (the photo has a built in pocket to the side).
Overall, this page wore me out, but I got to use one of my favorite papers, and tons of techniques, so I'm pleased. :)
Oh and for the life of me, I can't get the photo to upload so the BG piece looks centered on the cardstock. Trust me, it's centered.

Love all your hexagons. I need to start using hexagons coz it seems I like them a lot. But since I don;t have any die or punch, I may use dd's toys & trace a hexagon. Btw, lovely LO.

I haven't actually played much with hexagons yet, which is part of the reason for this particular sketch this month! I'm loving your combination of papers and stitching the hanger-downs is a great technique.
