Perfect choice of pps for this priceless photo. I love how natural the photo is, especially in those days when portraits/photos were usually so formal and staged. Beautiful masking work and floral placement. Love it all. Another Fave.
Ohhhh, this is absolutely beautiful and I love that photo. I don't know why but it brought a few tears to my eyes. I seem to be sentimental. Such beautiful detail work and I love the colors.
Such a PRICELESS photo. I think of the HARD living in the early 1900's and seem to forget about the times that families spent sharing precious moments like this. I LOVE everything you have done here Maryanne. Great colors, wonderful composition, beautiful flowers, awesome details. Great masking - i would have never known it was your first try. TFS your lovely lo.
WOW, Maryanne, you did a wonderful job with this vintage page and I just loved to learn your story - family stories are so great - love your pp, especially the one with that beautiful old Victrola - your masking is perfect - and your photo is marvelous ~

Your masking looks fabulous, Maryanne; love it! That photo is so precious; you can just feel the love when you look at it. Love the way you matted it, and your design, details and colours are wonderful!
Aww, It is such a tender moment, the look of pride and love in his face and in those hands holding him so lovingly! Definitely no botching here, it's wonderful Maryanne!
Wow, a perfectly perfect masculine page that is also beautiful!!! Amazing!!! The color choices are exquisite, and the whole design is outstanding!!! Love the use of the cheesecloth, masking and your decorative embellies. A truly tender moment, what a photo! A favorite and then some!!
This is such a tender photo, and what a great generational connection you were able to see between your son and the grandfather you never got to know. Your masking is beautiful and so perfectly placed. Stunning work on this page and an inspiration since I just purchased this collection of pps!
This is a photo of my grandfather holding my father. He can't be more than a few days or weeks old here and would have been taken about 1922. I love the tender look on my grandfathers face as he holds his newborn son. I didn't get to know my grandfather as he died in 1928 leaving a young family. As I was doing this layout I was astounded at how much one of my sons looked like him. My grandmother remarried in 1936 to a wonderful man, who became the grandfather we all loved.
Some colours of layouts don't photograph very well and this is one of them. I used the new Kaisercraft Pickled Pear collection for this and mixed it with Prima flowers, DA chippie and a few bits and pieces from my stash. I am still on a misssion to mix the old stash with the new. It is also the first time I have attempted any masking and I was so nervous, but I was happy that I managed not to botch it.
Thankyou all so much for taking the time to stop by...it is truly appreciated...Hugs
