water pipe?? I can't wait to hear that. I'm sorry for your loss and what an adventure you had.. I am so happy you were able to scrap this memory. Its good to have let it out ... give it air... and to remember the good times.wonderfully done
I have worked on the sketch challenge and scrapped something pretty personal and a part of distant memories. In 1993 I left on an amazing backpacking trip that took me from London, through Eastern Europe, and ended with three amazing months in Turkey, Israel and Egypt. I met a guy for just a few days, had a real connection (not the guy in the photo, that was a local guy in Istanbul hitting on us tourists and introducing us to water pipes, lol! I never got photos of that special guy sadly, thought I would see him again and it all happened so fast.) and he was subsequently killed in a motorcycle crash before I got a chance to meet him again in Israel as we planned. Lots of coincidences and weird happenings got me to the right place at the right time to hear what had happened to him so I wouldn't think he just stood me up. I was only 23 at the time so this experience is still an intense one. I met him in Cappadocia, central Turkey, that photo of me on the left with the amazing fairy chimneys, like a landscape on another world. I took the experience with me throughout the rest of my trip. I have journaled about him and my thoughts and feelings and what I learned on the tag behind the photo. It did good to finally scrap this experience. I grew up a lot on that trip.
