This is a photo of Mum, taken when she was about 3 or 4 years old. I actually got the idea for the title, from my Dad, who when he saved the photo image on his computer, titled it "Pretty as a picture" which was really sweet. He so adores my Mum :-)
I love this photo of my Mum, she really does look so pretty here, carefree and innocent, sweet and feminine with the cute bow and curls in her hair. I know this is a heritage photo and bright colours are not the norm, but my Mum grew up in a row of terrace houses in post-WW2 Britain and times were hard. They didn't have a garden or lots of flowers, so I wanted to create a lo that made it look like she was sitting in a flower garden.
The pearl flourish at the bottom was originally pink, which did not match the colour palette, so I spritzed it with Tattered Angels Chalk Mist, to get the color I wanted.
Thanks to (Flying Unicorn) Alda for the Dusty Attic flowers, they were perfect for this lo.
I really enjoyed creating this page, it's so nice to work with flowers again.
