L/o of my son learning to read) There is a story behind... to encourage him to read in the summer, we played "summer reading bingo" where he had to read a book a day (small books for sure) but doing fun tasks, such as: read on the couch, or read on the floor, or read outside, or read on Monday) and we marked it on the Bingo board and he earned all kinds of prizes for that. Anyway, the top pic is him reading under the tree, and bottom is him reading after dinner. By the end of summer, he was reading for fun, and quickly progressed to chapter books.
