We had our very first beignet at the Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Oh my!!! We ended up going again on our return trip. The store is opened 24/7 and only closes for Christmas and the occasional hurricane. I made those "beignets" from the patterned paper and then, embossed the top. This is for the 2nd week of the VLB challenge - one word title. Thanks for looking.

Yummy! There is a place in Seattle called Lola's that was featured on the Food Network (or one of those cooking channels with Giada) and she ordered her favorite "fried" food. They were little donuts that were made to order and brought to your table in a paper sack that they shook with cinnamon and sugar and served with two dipping sauces, one seasonal and the other marscapone cheese. THEY are the BOMB. We placed a second order just as we were finishing our first. They just melt in your mouth.

You make my mouth water, the Cafe is always my first stop. Did you blow the sugar into eachother's faces? It's tradition, so if you did were smarter than me wearing a light color - I wore black so I had powdered sugar all over my shirt the rest of the day!
