I love these pictures from a zoo visit in July 2008, but they're a little hard to see in the pic of the LO. These three birds live together in a habitat at Brookfield Zoo outside of Chicago. They are not only different species, but they are native to three different continents. I love the way they are cuddling in the bottom picture. My original plan for these pictures was to print and use a version of the 'Coexist' bumper sticker that you see everywhere, but in the end, I decided that the word itself is strong enough without the added symbolism.

From left to right: Owl Finch ~ Australia, Scaly-breasted Munia ~ Asia, Blue-capped Cordon-bleu ~ Africa.

This is an example for my January Four Categories Challenge - Category Three ~ Technique: Punching. The twist is to distress the punching. I used my All A-Fleur edge punch at odd angles in random spots and on some of the corners. I used the new Round Binding Edge punch I got for Christmas on the top of one of the layers. I crunched, tore, and inked all over, including the punched areas. I also punched the leaves and crumpled and inked them.

For:
1) January Two Pic Challenge.

2) VLB Challenge to use a one word title.

I mounted the right side of the pictures on foam tape to level them out since the left sides are on top of two crunched layers. The title block is also raised on foam tape. Some of the layers are scissor distressed - for others, I used the TH distressing tool.
