This was taken at a program during Eagle Days held at Clarksville MO along the Mississippi river. Very cold that day but we stood out on the river bank to watch the ealges soar. Such a cool sight. After traveling to see these majestic creatures, we were just 2 miles from home when we had 3 more sightings and of course we pulled over to photograph. One of these photos, I entered in a contest and will be creating another page. I thought the patriotic pages were so appropriate. The little strip of canvas on the photo lifts to reveal journaling of the characteristics of the bald eagle along with a close up of his powerful talons. The feathers, butttons, red lace came from Hobby Lobby. The yellow ribbon from a gift bag which I thought made his beak pop. The title were some ugly chipboard letters I used Tim Holtz crackle paint on and then inked them a bit. Also with the feathers is a piece of a Christmas decor spray. The circle I saw a bald eagle was given out at the program. TYFL!

Your photo of the eagle is terrific. You are definitely winning the contest. I love the use of the red burlap and feathers. The little yellow really does accent the beak of the eagle. You really did a wonderful job on this. Well done!
