This is my mother's HS graduation picture. She graduated in June 1932 at the age of 15, having skipped 2.5 grades. I also included a mini copy of her graduation certificate.

My mother was definitely college material, but had to get a job to help support her family. She had taken a commercial course, but jobs were hard to find in 1932 and her first job was behind the cosmetic counter in five and ten cent store. She was able to move on and get a job with a New York City maritime law firm working in the secretarial pool. One day she was called in to work for one of the partners. Because he was so impressed with her skills, he requested that she become his personal legal secretary.

The wreath is Blue Fern raw chipboard. I was out of my comfort zone coloring it with Copic markers. I really had no control over the colors, because it looked much darker when applied, and even after it dried was a lot darker than the Copic marker on paper. I used a lot of flowers on the top to soften the effect. I think most of them were Prima. I cut the inside paper doily with the new Martha Stewart circle cutter that I bought form HSN.
