When my friend Cindy came out from MN. one of the places we went was Mt. St. Helens in southern WA. I have lived in WA. since 1977, the mountain erupted in 1980 and in July of 2012 when I took Cindy, it was my first time there as well. Took me 3 decades to get down there and check it out, and wouldn't you know it... It was so cloudy we couldn't even see the crater.

Even though that was a little disappointing we were so happy just hanging out together on the drive up there, it wasn't raining, and we could still see the breathtaking views the drive had to offer and the valley below the mountain.

The trees thinned out the closer we got to The Johnston Observatory, and there was such little growth 30+ years later. But the landscape was just breathtaking!

I titled this LO "Mapping our Memories" because if you look closely to the paper souvenir map we picked up along the way you can see where I took liquid Pearls & dotted the route we took & I placed mini photos & pointed arrows where we stopped along the way and took these pictures. So I thought the title was fitting.
