Journaling reads: "Our yearly tradition: Everybody get a Christmas ornament at Thanksgiving dinner. Each ornament tells a story of an event from that year... 2012" There is a pull out card at the top (not visible here) that tells the stories. It reads:
The stories behind the ornaments:
Jerry: He’s always the hardest one to buy for, as he mostly works all the time. But, he is my “grill” man. I don’t grill out unless he’s here to man it. So… his says “Dad’s Bar-B- Que – home of the double burnt burger – STAND BACK”. In reality, his burgers are the best!
Betty: Mine was bought on Sarah’s and my Savannah trip last March. We both picked the same ornament – The Cotton Exchange – one of our favorite places that we saw on the trip.
Joshua: He and Nichole were married in September, so his is a heart-shaped frame with two deer. I put a “kissing” picture from their wedding in the frame.
Adam: Adam and Andrea adopted an orange kitty this year –“Sam” – thus the ornament. Ironically, Adam is allergic to cats – but Sam has wormed his way into all of our hearts…
Sarah: Same as mine… we are so alike…
Benjamin: Probably the best story of the year… For Andrea’s birthday, we went out to dinner, then to the local pub. It was Benjamin’s first time at the pub and at playing darts. On the wall between two dart boards was a picture of Kurt Russell. Now, mind you, there were already dozens of holes in this picture. Anyway, Benjamin was missing the dart board and took a pot shot at Kurt Russell and hit it dead on. About that time the bartender came out yelling “Do that again and you’re out of here!” Of course, Benjamin, being Benjamin, just laughed it off. However, all of the other kids came to his defense, very hotly. Joshua proceeded to go “talk” to the manager about it, while Adam and Sarah plotted against the bartender. Luckily the manager said it was no big deal, that he threw darts at the picture all the time himself and not to worry about it. Slightly embarrassed at having been “called out” in public and having our fun evening interrupted, we left shortly after the incident and have always told Benjamin that he got us thrown out of the bar! LOL! If you know anything at all about our family you would know that we are all quiet people for the most part – don’t like to draw attention to ourselves – expecially Benjamin. So, when we saw this little dartboard ornament, I knew it was perfect!
Andrea: Andrea is a total “gleek”. She really enjoys the show “Glee” on TV, can’t wait for it to come on every week. So, this little music note with the “Glee Club” emblem on it was just perfect for her.
Nichole: A couple of years ago, we gave Sarah laser treatments for Christmas so she could be mustache free. After seeing how great it had worked for Sarah, Nichole decided to sign up to get her “mustache” lasered before the wedding. When I saw this little glass mustache ornament, I thought it would be perfect. After I got home, I started worrying that she might get offended by it, but she has a great sense of humor and she loved it.

I got the inspiration for the design from the front cover of my new CTMH catalog. The pps and embellies are also CTMH. Such a quick and easy page, but I like it. The "collage" is just one big pic with dark brown spacing between the smaller pics. Everything is inked in chestnut brown and then I added some dark brown doodles, stitching lines. Thanks so much for looking!
