I was going for that home-spun country look for this layout so I went with the pretty red patterned papers in the Life In the Country collection from Maja Designs. This is my sort of version of clean and simple :)
The chipboard is Dusty Attic. I coated the chipboard with red paint and then put on a layer of Glossy Accents to give the flourishes a nice laquered look.
I also picked up a new flower die cut, the Spellbinders Spiral Blossoms #1.....I made the gingham flower with it, easy peasy! I didn't even do a tutorial for this one because all I did was lightly curl the tips of the petals and roll up the strip....done! NOTE:....I have a MAJA DESIGN GIVE-AWAY going on at my blog until March 30th/2013 for their brand new spring collection of papers...the full collection! Be sure to stop by and put your name in for the draw (this is a GORGEOUS collection!) Here's a link for my Give-away....
