Give a Cheer
These are the group portrait and dress rehearsal pics from one of Cassie's 9 dances in her 2011 recital -- a ballet class she stepped into as a favor to the teacher the last month before performance to replace a girl who dropped out. The portrait is missing 3 other of the girls in the class who didn't show up on picture day. They danced to Michael Jackson's Man in the Mirror. These photos were taken during two separate run-throughs of the dance, which is why Cassie is wearing glasses in some photos and not in others.
I always do a single page LO for each of her individual portraits that I try to match to the costume and song and a coordinating 2 page LO for the group portrait and action shots. I decided back when she first started having multiple dances in the shows not to try and reinvent the wheel each time, so they all have this format - group shot on the left and action shots arranged across the rest of the 2 pages with pp's and embellies that match the single portrait. I used a mirror as a base for the title. The scalloped strips across the top of the portrait and in the upper right are black velvet pp, and I used a strand of black sequins on the edge of the border pp to match her costume. The mat across the middle behind the 5x7 and 4x6's is silver glitter pp. I pulled the flower centers out of the large black Petaloo and one of the white Paper Studio flowers and replaced them with gems. There are small mirrors tucked in among the flowers. I diecut the scalloped circles for the journaling in my Cuttlebug - the info includes the class level, teacher, day & time of the class, and the names of the girls in the dance.
