This is called a postage stamp style quilt where the pieces are all 1" square or HST's (Half square triangles) and put together much like you might do a counted cross stitch. The tree and nose are appliqued on, while the hat pom-pom is actually a giant yo-yo. The scarf edge is fabric using the raw edges to help give the tassel effect. The eyes and mouth are square, multi-faceted black buttons. This was my 3rd year at the State Fair and last quilt they hung of mine in the gallery.
