This is my version of a Scraprack, which is sold by Tiffany Spaulding at thescraprack.com I used an old catalog rack that I bought at a used office supply store. I had industrial strength Velcro that I had bought on clearance and used the "scratchy" side on the catalog rack base. I cut the fronts and backs off of several 1.5 inch binders, and attached the "loopy" side of the Velcro to that. I used 12 x 12 page protectors that I made into smaller pockets, either by sewing, heat sealing or with Terrifically Tacky Tape. If you look on Facebook for "2011 Get Organized Challenge", at the top of the page click on PHOTOS. If you scroll back to Feb/March of 2012 time frame, you can find my album that shows all of the things that I have re-used or adapted for use in my Scrapbooking room, lovingly known as The Basement O' Terror.
Way to go, Saidy Jane! What did you use for the "spinders" -- did you take apart a bunch of regular-size binders? Are the dividers made of the Dollar Tree 9 x 12 cutting mats? Whatever you did, it looks fully functional! ENJOY!!
This cart was originally meant to have the solid shelf on the bottom and the other shelf, (now on the bottom), set up to hold regular or legal length Pendaflex file folders. I switched the shelves, and put the more solid one on top to hold my home made scrap rack. For the bottom, I made a shelf out of a piece of plywood that was here at the house, notching out the corners to accommodate the 4 legs, and covering it with denim cut from an old pair of hubby's jeans. Having the top shelf lower serves many purposes. It keeps the rack at my working level when I'm sitting, the tops of the legs hold the pages back and support them, and the entire thing rolls out of the way underneath my work surface (which is a 10 foot length of kitchen counter top).
