The last few days, I have been busy making 70 place cards for a "golden" wedding. Which means that these two wonderful people have spent 50 years of their life together. Wow. When I asked the "bride" what was the secret to her marriage, she just laughed and said: "You have to ask this my wonderful husband who puts up with me". I will try to ask him about his secret when they pick up their cards.
I was sent one napkin that she had already purchased for the table decoration and I made the place cards match. When I got to work, I started thinking - I knew these had to turn out special. 5 small golden beads for each of the 10 years together. I then decided to make each card a little bit different. Each of the 50 years felt a bit different (change in texture) looked a bit different (different shades of orange and beige) and yet, they are based on the same elements and look very harmonious together.
