My dd was in 9 dances in her recital in 2011 - three of them were for her Advanced/Intermediate Tap class. They only had us buy a 'real' costume for one of the three, though, so for the others they wore their own denim shorts and t-shirts they painted themselves at a slumber party before picture day. For this one, they all wore white t's painted with electric blue, neon green, plum, and silver paints. Of the nine portraits, I only really like three, two are 'okay,' and two are terrible. The other two are not bad photos, but her expressions don't fit the dances so I don't really like them. This is one of the ones that I don't really like - the song, Can't Back Down, is by Demi Lovato and is from Camp Rock 2, and she should have an attitude, not a giant smile, but my dd is trained to smile when a camera is pointed at her since she's had one in her face since birth. LOL You can see the LO's I've completed for other 2011 dances and earlier years in my Dance LO's Album in my gallery. All her professional dance portraits have been taken by Cass Photography.
This is an example for my June Four Categories Challenge - Category One ~ Product: Cardstock. Players must use at least 3 different cardstocks - I used 4: white, blue, neon green, and black. The twist is to use NO patterned paper, which I did.
I used the sketch from the March Monthly Sketch Challenge Week 3 Bonus that I didn't get to back in March. It is a sketch by MelissaW.
I made the background with 4 different inks - partially direct with the blending tool and partially masking sequin scrim. I also splattered 3 different mists on the bg and on the bare flowers. I embossed the blue and green cs's, and I used a label maker for the strip journaling the class level.
