Oh Renea, your tribute and share is wonderful, so beautifully written and truly heartfelt!! Thank you for allowing us to see a little more of you and yours. And boy, do those colours pop?? :)))
What a beautiful LO and wonderful tribute to your FIL. Thank you for sharing that lovely story. I feel the same way about my FIL who was a loving, humble man who served in the war too and instilled such wonderful morals in his son. Before he passed away, I made a WWII album of him. His tears was just priceless. Both he and my own Dad who also served were both heroes in my heart!
Renea you have touched my heart again! Thank you for sharing your FIL with us, it heals my heart when I hear of greatness, and virtuous spirit in men!! Your lo is wonderful and brings tears to eyes now that I know the "Hero" represented.
Renea, what a wonderful tribute to your "Hero". He sounds like an amazing man & thank you for sharing his story with us. The lo is great & those colors say red, white, & blue I honor you!:)
Hi Renea! I absolutely love this page, so much! You did a fabulous job scrapping this wonderful photo. such an amazing tribute. Your work ROCKS, my friend!
I love that you have listed so many of the virtuous qualities your father-in-law possesses in your description of who he is. It brought tears to my eyes when I read about his reaction to your husband's proposal to you. I'm sure he will be very honoured by both your layout and the high regard with which you speak of him.
oh Renea!! This is awesome!! I love patriotic layouts and I must have every single red, white and blue paper out there!! How many projects have I done? ONE mini album!! I need to break them out and do a layout as a salute to my grandfather, uncles and cousins who served. Love this!
Have you seen the new Scraps Of Darkness June Kit-Firecracker yet?? If you haven't be sure to check it out, because it certainly lives up to it's name~it is hotter than a firecracker!! This kit can be used in so many ways, and my first layout with it shows just how you can create a layout that shows off your patriotic side.
It is based on this month's sketch by Suepup, and features a photo of my Father In Law, Frank, when he was 25 and was in the Army. I just have to tell you that Frank is one of those men, who has been a true hero throughout his life, not only did he serve his country, but he has served his family to his utmost ability throughout his 73 years. As a teenager, his own father walked out on them, and Frank went to work and supported and helped to raise his brother's and sisters. He later married, had 2 children of his own, and when his marriage failed, he raised his children. He has raised one of his grandchildren from birth, and when I was the ripe old age of 19, he accepted me into his family, and has always treated me like a daughter, never a daughter in law. He cried when his son asked me to marry him on Christmas morning, at his home, gave me things we could not afford, loved mine and David's son above and beyond. I am so grateful for the values and responsibility that he instealed in his son, because he is a wonderful husband and father. Frank is truly the definition of what a hero is~a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. This July 4th, I salute my Father In Law~Frank Harrison.
Thank you so much for letting me share my feelings and layout that salutes my Father In Law! I hope you have someone special in your life that you can truly call a hero :) Hugs, ~Renea
