God Bless all of our Veterans. My Dad is a Korea War Vet and we just attended a function last weekend that was the 60th Anniversary of the end of the war. My Dad had a very hard time with this one as he remembered watching his best friend die in that war. We have 33 Veterans left in my Dad's unit to be together for this function and they stood tall and proud on the parade square for the ceremonies. At the end after dinner and awards we had 33 balloons that each veteran let go in remembrance of their fallen comrades... there was not a dry eye as each Veteran let their balloon go whispering names of their friends they lost in this war. In two weeks they will go to Brampton to the Korean Wall for another ceremony and my Dad will stand proud again with tears streaming down his face ... I agree please remember our Veterans everyday !
Our town is hosting the Vietnam Healing Wall from July 3rd-July 8th. We are the only city in the United States that is displaying the traveling wall over the 4th of July.
My husband was a Vietnam veteran & it was very difficult to go to the wall today. I just wanted to share a few photo's. Please remember to thank a vet today & enjoy your family celebrations! God bless the USA! Hugs~Marylou
