My dd was in 9 dances in her recital in 2011 - this is her Prep for Pointe class. Of her nine portraits, I only really like three, two are 'okay,' and two are terrible. The other two are not bad photos, but her expressions don't fit the dances so I don't really like them. This is one of the ones that is just 'okay' - it's cute, but it's not a very 'ballet' pose. The song is, of course, the We Go Together from Grease, which about drove me insane that year. Oy. You can see the LO's I've completed for other 2011 dances and earlier years in my Dance LO's Album in my gallery. All her professional dance portraits have been taken by Cass Photography.
I had fun with this one. Cassie suggested the pink polka dots to fit the 50's theme, and I also used black/white polka dot pp for the mat. I cut the car (Grease Lightning LOL) with the Graphically Speaking cart on my Cricut, and I added the year to the LO by making a little 'license plate.' LesleyC cut the poodle for me on her Cameo (THANKS!). I added pearls for the collar/leash and a gem for the tags. I printed the title on vellum in 84 pt. Murphy Script. I was going for something similar to the font on the back of the Pink Ladies jackets. I used rub-ons to add the class level.
