I decorated this slate plaque for my friend's birthday. I had never seen a plaque made out of slate before and I actually found it in the craft section at Walmart! It was the only one they had so I grabbed it. It wasn't expensive at all either which really surprised me. Anyway, I found the phrase on my Print Shop program and chose a background print before adding the phrase, then cutting it out with scallop-edged scissors. The flower sticker was a set from Penny Black - Romance of Flowers. Can't recall if I got them from Hobby Lobby or Craft Warehouse! Anyway, my dear friend loved those stickers so I decided to use one of them for her gift. I made the twine flower and if you notice under it and on the corner of the sticker I've added real bark from a birch tree that my husband and son had cut down (which she thought was so cool also!). Added cheesecloth under the photo and made a bow also and added it to the twine. The metal flowers I got from yadanabeads on Etsy. She has some great buys on stuff.
