HOPING FOR SOME GREAT IDEAS!
Since I am working on my genealogy albums, I want to do each line back to the immigrant for each surname. YEH, I know it is a LOT of names but it will be worth it to my kids and grandkids and later generations. Anywho, this one shows my Foster line . By doing at least a page for each individual with names, dates, and places so the main info will be in the individual's page. This show that line back to the immigrant which helps people grasp the relationship better. There are 11 generations between me and him. So I was thinking just doing that line and their spouses on the chart similar to this even though there are more than the Foster line listed here I think you can get the jest. There are some pretty pedigree charts out there and I own enough to do some of my lines that way but not enough and they don't have 11 generation or more spaces on them. That's the rub! I could make a plain Jane one similar to this but was hoping to come up with a better idea but so far I am drawing a blank. ANY ideas from you fabulous scrappers would be welcome. I don't need to make them super fancy I still want a working, easily readable chart but better than this template. Sorry this is so long winded, just having trouble putting my thoughts into words....

Each album will be broken down into surname sections with an opening page for each surname that tells the significance of that name, where it originated with a map or a family crest or insignia or some such thing. This would be followed by a pedigree chart like this. With the lines connecting the immigrant to me. My kids could make them for themselves or their children if they so desire and add them to the album and I will encourage them to do so to keep the lines connected. This page would be followed by the individual's pages with stories and photos or as much info as I can gather. Sheesh, its a HUGE project!

Sooo, anyone with a great idea on how to make these charts a bit better? I did think about using a family crest, but I don't have one for each family. I also thought about crossed flags one of the US and one of the country the immigrant came from but not sure I really like that idea.
