I was the first baby in my family and the only one to have lived with four generations. My great-grandmother and great-grandfather were German immigrants and they called me the "wunder kindt" - loosely translated the "wonder child". This is a photo of my grandmother, great-grandmother, my mother and me. The photo was taken in 1943.
