So sorry to hear about this devastated area. I hope they find a way to recover its beauty. In the meantime, your page looks beautiful
even if it is sad. The punch works perfectly with the pps against the black, and all the great embellies and stamping. Beautifully done.
What a beautiful tribute to a land. Hopefully you can go back and show wonderful photos after the cleanup. I hope you have that journaling somewhere on the page or back for future generations. Such a sad story, but beautifully told.
My husband and I love Montana. He proposed to me in Montana. I had no idea about the asbestos. Your page is beautiful and sad. The journaling is very informative and I am glad that you included it.
Oh I had no idea! So terrible for all of those residents. I assume you are not moving there now? And I have to agree with everything Swonders said below.....
At first glance, the dramatic black really is nice contrast to the bg paper and photos. Then I read the story, and the black takes on a whole new meaning. That is so sad to hear this of such beautiful country.
In January we took a trip to northwestern Montana, with the thought of moving there. I had lived in that area in the 60's, and d/h is originally from Vermont, so the snow and cold aren't intimidating. We knew they had had an asbestos problem years ago, but didn't realize it was ongoing. Sadly, the mine owners gave away tailings to anyone who wanted it for landscaping, fills, etc., even town parks and playgrounds. Now the land is saturated with asbestos, and there is a Super Fund created to assist the victims. New cases of lung disease are diagnosed each day. It's so sad to see the toll taken on this lovely area, and my heart goes out to the residents. I took very few photos, and the ones I did are bleak, much like these.
